Our intuitive nature is a source of deep wisdom—guiding our creativity, emotional intelligence, and sense of purpose. Years of exploring creativity and intuition have led me toward a deeper sense of wholeness, and to the gentle power that comes from recognizing and trusting my own truth.

I believe we are multifaceted, creative beings, continually evolving toward our fullest potential. By cultivating awareness and creating space to listen inward, we can reconnect with the wisdom already within us—and allow our lives, creativity, and movement to unfold with greater clarity, freedom, and authenticity.

“Marieke’s simple guidance and faith in the beauty that will inevitably come through to make itself known was a true revelation for me. Her work will bring you gently into connection with untapped aspects of your capacity to experience the natural creative flow that runs through us all.”

Ceramics - Handbuilding

Humans have been making things out of clay for thousands of years; its wonderful to see a potter’s finger marks forever imprinted in a clay piece. You can do this too!

Using handbuilding techniques such as slab rolling and coils, you will build your own piece. I will offer simple yet beautiful projects, or if you have some experience you can try your own idea.

We have a kiln on premises, you will make your piece as well as glaze it yourself.

All clay, glazes, equipment and firing are included.

A 2 hour workshop is $100

"Marieke has a manner that sets me immediately at ease. With her gentle confidence, Marieke creates a safe space to share, explore and grow. I look forward to my time with her, as I always end up feeling simultaneously grounded and ready to fly!"

About Marieke

Marieke Boorman

For well over a decade now, I’ve been drawn to creativity, connection, and creating spaces where people feel free to explore without judgment. I love bringing people together, and I believe that when we move out of competition and into collaboration, something much bigger becomes possible.

My work has grown out of many years of exploring creativity, mindfulness, movement, intuition, and the mind-body connection. I trained with the Institute for Women Centered Coaching, Training & Leadership, completing the Professional Program in Facilitation in 2020 and the Coaching Program in 2021. In 2025, I became certified as a Fascial Manoeuvre Coach through Human Garage.

Mindfulness and leadership have been an important part of my ongoing exploration. I completed two cohorts of the Sounds True Inner MBA program in 2024 and 2025, and more recently I’ve been deepening my understanding of the shadow aspects of the psyche through the Gene Keys, Karla McLaren’s Language of Emotions, and other teachings.

Creativity has been at the heart of my work all of my life. I began as an artist myself, and when I became a mom, I created after-school and summer art programs for children, which eventually grew into creative programs for teens and adults. In 2020, I developed Allowing Art, a mindful art practice for adults that invites us to slow down, let go of judgment, and reconnect with our natural creativity. In 2022, I co-founded ArtAtWorkLA with Lauren Black, bringing creative experiences and workshops into boardrooms and workplaces.

I hold a BA in Fine Art from the University of Toronto, along with additional coursework in Early Childhood Education and Psychology.

Today, my work brings together art, movement, mindfulness, and intuition. At the heart of it all is a desire to create space for people to reconnect with themselves, their creativity, and the wisdom of their own bodies.

  • “Before taking Marieke’s art class I had never experienced the deeply mediative act of drawing. I have studied art at a college level and have a career as a profession actor, writer, director. I’m also certified in various healing arts which is only to say that I am no stranger to the creative process and the many ways art heals. Marieke’s simple guidance and faith in the beauty that will inevitably come through to make itself known was a true revelation for me. Her work will bring you gently into connection with untapped aspects of your capacity to experience the natural creative flow that runs through us all, but perhaps especially, through women.”

  • "The first time I joined Marieke‘s art class, I was blown away by how relaxed of an environment it was. It really generated a feeling of letting go of any kind of expectations or judgments, and allowing myself to experience what it was to be creative. This was my first time ever to participate in any kind of art class. Since that first one, I felt such encouragement and enthusiasm to paint. Marieke, just being her own generous self, brought out the side of me that I had forgotten about since my childhood. I wish there would be more people like her in our world. Since that first class, I’ve been painting consistently. Thank you!"

  • "I loved the workshop today! What you are creating is so deep and meaningful. I left feeling so grounded, connected and open. Your art projects are so meditative and beautiful. I love how natural the conversations were and how much we all clearly desire to connect and share our experiences and be heard.”

    • S.S.

  • "I really love how you have given them confidence to pursue that (observant quality). Thank you so much for being (our child's) teacher. We really appreciate you."

  • "Today at work, when I look out the window I do not sigh, I smile in pleasant memory of a morning spent at play and companionship. Thank you."
